Dental Shades Avenue is an innovative mobile application for measuring tooth color, size and whitening efficiency in dental practice in the field of dental implantation.
The project was developed based on the research activities and patent of the customer company - Dental Shades Avenue: PCT/US2022/073664. A method for determining the color of teeth and the effectiveness of their whitening using a special color scale (color master), a mobile phone camera and a software application on it.

The traditional method of determining the color of teeth was proposed back in 1924 by the Vita company. It is carried out visually based on a standardized set of color shade samples. Its significant disadvantages are:
- subjectivity of the assessment and its dependence on the doctor’s experience;
- the influence of indoor lighting;
- the need for manual data processing and sending it to the laboratory when making dentures.
Alternative methods in the field of colorimetry use expensive and difficult to use digital cameras, colorimeters and spectrophotometers. They eliminate the subjectivity of the assessment, but do not always determine the exact color and do not save the dentist's time.
The Dental Shades Avenue application is an innovative hardware and software solution (manufactured by AVADA MEDIA) based on the use of a mobile phone and a specially developed color calibration sample. This solution is reliable and accessible to every dentist. Its main advantages are simplicity, high accuracy and low cost. Additional advantages include the ability to use any set of colors and materials from different companies, a library of real customer photos and automatic saving and forwarding of analysis results from the dentist to the technician and back.
